Vegetables and sausage soup

  4 cups water
  0,7 pounds potatoes
  1 carrot
  0,2 pounds rutabagas
  0,2 pounds leeks
  8 black peppercorns
  1 bay leaf
  0,7 pounds sausage
  1 tbsp oil
  0,5 tsp salt


  1. Peel and cube the potatoes, carrot and rutabaga. Wash the leek and chop finely. Pour the water into a medium-sized pot, bring to boil. Add the vegetables, peppercorns and bay leaf, cover and cook on medium heat for approx. 10 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile chop the sausage. In a small pan heat the oil and fry the sausage on medium heat, stirring often, for 5-7 minutes. Add the sausage to the soup. Continue cooking for 5 more minutes, or until the sausage and vegetables are done and tender throughout.
